I LUG NY members Damian and Brian W visited the LEGO Store in Lake Grove, NY yesterday to install our first LEGO Store window display in over 5 years!
The models installed were built by several members of the LUG for a recent monthly building challenge that the LUG held. Members had to create a Minifigure Habitat following the standards shared on Brickfair’s website.
These builds sit atop a 14×12 stud base and measure 8 2/3 bricks high. Members selected any minifigure to build a habitat for. Entries for the contest ranged from Star Wars, Space, Disney, Pixar, Marvel and sigfigs.
I LUG NY members John D (Corn Suit Guy build titled “Among Friends”), Jason K (Retired Thor Trophy Room), Matt A (Toy Story build), Damian (Tiki Bar), Rick (Godzila Suit CMF build), and Brian W (Futuron CMF build and AFOL Basement Sigfig) built the habitats on display at the LEGO Store.
The LUG would like to thank Lake Grove LEGO Store manager Jim and employee Anthony for their gracious welcome yesterday. Jim was especially helpful and enthusiastic to begin working with the LUG on a rotating window display! We have done many windows at multiple LEGO Stores in the past (LEGO Stores at the Palisades Mall, Queens Center Mall, Roosevelt Field Mall, Rockefeller Center, The Westchester, and the Garden State Plaza Mall). This program unofficially ended in 2015 and we are glad to join the growing number of LUGs who have a presence in their local LEGO Store! In fact, we will be heading to the store in September to add different habitats to the display.
