[Queens] Trick-or-Treat – October 2014

Happy Halloween from all of us at I LUG NY!

This month’s window was installed by Bill Murphy with help from Brian Wygand & Cody Wells. As we approach Halloween we’re all excited about trick or treating but so are our alien friends.

Murph says:

“I wanted to put a twist on a common window theme and get to include many of my favorite minifigures like a classic space figure or the hazmat guy, but I didn’t want to just make a typical halloween scene. It’s been common to have a few characters with regular minifig heads and hair holding a funny head or helmet to show they took off their mask to talk so I thought what if when they take off the head they were actually scary monsters underneath.  Aliens might not be that scary but they sure are fun. Some of the visiting aliens from other universes even came to watch all the neat costumes.”

Did you notice there are alien heads under the costume masks? Or that many forgot to cover their green hands and tentacles? At first glance it seems like there are a few trick-or-treaters dressed as aliens, but it’s actually the opposite!  Can you find the young alien who’s mommy came along so he wouldn’t be scared? Do you think she’s secretly hoping he’ll share some candy?

After his defeat at the hands of the ADU, Hypaxxus-8 thought to himself “*#hsbl3772*$()?{er2 ?#4GN23dkdsfks.” This was not unusual, since he was and alien and rarely thought in English. That translates to “If you can’t resist a Pluuvian Brain Beast, you might as well join them!” Never bad advice, especailly if it’s Captain Ploovie!

During his attempt to conquer Earth, Hypaxxus-8 saw pitiful humans dress up like all manner of weak and pathetic creatures. They roamed from habitat to habitat, begging for nourishment  while idly making threats of unfertilized chicken embryo attacks. What he wanted to show them how much more effective a disintegration ray could be, but then he realized…. FREE CANDY!?!??

Hypaxxus-8, supreme Alien Commander, knew what he had to do! He would introduce this “Halloween” to his home world and share the secrets of obtaining candy!  First they would dress up in silly earthling costumes, then they would go around the hive collecting all the candy! With all the candy in their bellies they would all be ready to defeat those ADU meanies and the Galaxy Squad too!
