“Little Guys… In Space!” Kickstarter Campaign

Just thought I’d update you all on a new film we’re developing here at Paganomation

“Little Guys… In Space!” is a stop-motion parody of ‘80s space toy commercials, featuring large-scale LEGO sculptures as the main characters. It’s a sequel to my 2007 film “Little Guys!”, which was created in a similar style — all characters, sets, backgrounds, and effects built out of LEGO bricks and elements.

With the new film, the goal is to advance the techniques developed for the first film: create more expressive characters, try out new brick-built practical effects, and generally push the boundaries of LEGO stop-motion as far as possible. We’re also looking to just make a fun, entertaining film that pays tribute to classic sci-fi archetypes and retro TV ads.

We’re currently raising funds for “Little Guys… In Space!” through a Kickstarter campaign. Rewards include custom LEGO kits, DVDs, pins, and prints, as well brick-built caricatures of our backers that will be featured in the film.

Even more than the Kickstarter, though, I’d definitely love any and all support in helping to spread the word about “Little Guys… In Space!” We’ve set up a Facebook event for the campaign, so feel free to invite anyone whom you think might be interested.

It’s exciting to be putting together a new film here, and I’m really looking forward to experimenting with all kinds of crazy new LEGO stop-motion tricks and techniques. Thanks everyone!
